Following the Translayon inaugural ceremony at Gennes, there follows 3 busy days of hiking or horseback riding tracing the River Layon from the source of the river to its confluence with the Loire. Along the way are the Coteaux du Layon, part of Anjou, with its many vineyards and the weary (and thirsty) traveller is catered for along the route with various winetastings.

Translayon is a hiking, horseriding and canoeing excursion taking in the towns of Gennes, Cleré, Layon, Tigné, Chalonnes in Valley of River Layon in Maine-et-Loire. The village and town stops and rests offer a variety of entertainment, tasting local produce and, of course, wine-tasting. Come and enjoy a trail of discovery in rural France down one of the most beautiful river valeys in Pays de la Loire.

Numbers for excursions both on foot and on horseback are limited and early reservation (via the subscription form which can be downloaded on this link to the Translayon website) is recommended.
