Cadré Noir de Saumur - Earl's Court, London
The specialist horsemen and women of the Cadré Noir de Saumur are visiting the UK for the first time in May 2012.
The Cadré Noir
will perform at Earl's Court in London from 25-27 May in the lead-up to the London Olympics.
Fifty horses and 22 riders will travel to London. As part of the show audiences will see the riders performing spectacular movements - a unique unity between horse and rider.
The shows will have a musical accompaniment from the European Symphony Orchestra.
The Cadré Noir de Saumur dates back to 1825. Originally it provided training to the officers of the French cavalry and is now open to military and civilian applicants alike. Our detailed feature in the Regional Info section gives more information on the history and philosophy of the Cadré Noir de Saumur.
The
Cadré Noir practises Equitation in the French Tradition and its importance was recently recognised by UNESCO when Equitation in the French Tradition was added to the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritages.
Tickets are now on sale priced from £40. Tel: 0844 338 0000 or visit: www.bookingsdirect.com
