Description:
Nantes received a boost this week as Air France announced that it would be re-instating a regular daily service between Pays de la Loire’s only international airport, Nantes-Loire-Atlantique and Paris-Orly.
Flights from Nantes are set to resume from 31st October 2010. The Nantes-Paris service has been in abeyance since 1996. In the first year, Air France hopes to attract 70,000 passengers per annum to the new service.
The Nantes-Paris service starts with 26 flights each week, 4 flights per day Monday to Friday and 3 flights per day on Saturdays and Sundays. The route will be operated by Air France subsidiary VLM Airlines and serviced from its fleet of 50 seater Fokker 50 aircraft. Prices are likely to be around €111 for a return trip.
The new service from Nantes will be designed to dovetail with Air France connections, via Paris-Orly, to a range of international destinations but particularly French overseas departments which are becoming increasingly important market for Nantes.
