The new tourist office at Saumur on the banks of the river Loire is set to open to the public on 15th June. The tourist office in Saumur presently occupies part of the imposing former theatre building, on imposing structure in Saumur town centre. The theatre has been unused for some years and is now to be redeveloped and re-instated to its former use.

Saumur’s new tourist office is located in larger premises at 8 bis quai Carnot. If you were entering Saumur town centre from the north then you would turn left at the mini-roundabout just at the former theatre and find the new tourist office about 100 metres down that road. There is ample parking on the banks of the river Loire opposite the new tourist office in Saumur.

As part of the relocation operation, the present Maison des Vins de Loire which is adjacent to the existing Saumur Tourist Office will also be moving and will be next door to the new tourist office as before. The new Maison des Vins de Loire will occupy 100 square metres of the total space which extends overall to 320 square metres and incorporates a shop, children’s play area, video/cinema room and toilet facilities.
